Miami Valley Steel is proud to announce that we’ve received re-certification as an ISO 9001-2008 company!
For those of you who may not know, ISO 9001-2008 certification is an international set of standards that ensure quality management procedures in a company.
The 8 fundamental principles that ISO 9001-2008 certification is based upon are:
Customer Focus
The business must have an understanding of its customers want and be able to satisfy those needs.
Leadership
The business’s leadership must clearly set goals for the company and establish an environment where everyone involved works to meet those goals.
Involvement of People
Employees of ISO 9001-2008 companies should be involved on all levels with contributing to the success of the organization.
Process Approach
All company activities should have clear and defined processes, and these processes should work towards improving the efficiency and service of the company.
System Approach to Management
All processes should be integrated into a system that can further improve efficiency and success.
Continual Improvement
A successful company never rests. Performance should be continually reviewed and processes improved. There must be a documented procedure for internal audits, and records kept to improve the system.
Factual Approach to Decision Making
Decisions must be made on collected data not on a whim or based on a feeling. A successful company decides what data they need to make a decision, collects it, and then makes a decision based on the facts.
Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relationship
Businesses and suppliers should work together to their mutual benefit. If this relationship breaks down the business will suffer.
We believe in this principles, and take great pride in our ISO 9001:2008 certification!
